Manga – Love for Sale (One Shot)
Wednesday, December 24, 2008
Category: Manga
Title: Love for Sale (One Shot)
By: Yuwa Shiori
Genre: One Shot, Shoujo, Romance, Comedy (Slight)
Chapters: 1
My Rating: 5/10
Plot/ Story line:
A simple and short story line, in fact, I wouldn't even label this as romance, because there isn't much romance in this one shot. This one shot is more of Kanade and Hashiba getting to know each other better, and how they always meet at the supermarket because Hashiba works as a cashier there. And I think it's rather childish yet sweet of Hashiba to actually think of getting Kanade's attention by criticizing her all the time. So there were some funny scenes and occurrences that made me smile. I felt that this plot is actually very suitable for a one shot because there doesn't seem to be a proper continuation to this story. It's a bit too simple for me actually. At least Yuwa Shiori managed to sufficiently explain the relationship between Kanade and Sophomore Hashiba and Kanade's brother. Unlike many other one shots which tend to neglect the history between the characters, Yuwa Shiori did explain enough about the past relationship to allow readers to appreciate this one shot better. So yeah, it's quite okay for me.
(Spoiler!) The fire incident was rather ridiculous. Why wasn't there a fire alarm or something? It's quite silly for Hashiba to battle the fire with just a fire extinguisher. And how come the chick keychain doesn't even look dirty? I was quite unsatisfied for that part. BUT I COULDN'T STOP LAUGHING AT THE SCENE AFTER THAT! I'll describe it more at the 'Most memorable scene' section (:
Drawing:
I think the drawing is really just average ): Not be my standard at all, partly because I have very very high standards towards art and animations.
My benchmark is Walt Disney Classic animations and drawing. So yeah, sorry for being so critical ):
And I think Kanade's hairdo is really strange, at certain angles, it looks like a lion's mane!
Seriously! Even the body drawings aren't very good, but at least Yuwa Shiori did reasonably well (: Cheers to you!
Characters:
Ehh, not enough character development ): But I can say that Kanade is kind of tomboy-ish but she has this huge brother-complex thing. Well, it's not her fault, her brother is really popular and he is the president of the student council.
Hashiba can be so childish, but I believe it's because he is inexperienced in this aspect, but he can be really mean at times and really straight forward. Haha. I still can't help thinking about how he jump into conclusions!
Most memorable line/scene:
SPOILER!
IT HAS GOT TO BE THE PART WHERE KANADE'S BROTHER PURPOSELY HID THEIR SIBILING RELATIONSHIP! He did that to force Hashiba to admit that he has feelings towards Kanade! It was really very awkward and embarrassing for Hashiba, but it was so so so funny! That brother is really cheeky!
I would recommend it to:
Those who are into One Shots, this is not bad. But for those after the Romance genre, don't read it, I don't think it has enough Romance ):

Manga – Love Cruise (One Shot)
Category: Manga
Title: Love Cruise
By: Tomu Oomi
Genre: One Shot, Romance, Josei (Two scenes should be censored)
Chapters: 1
My Rating: 4/10
Plot/ Story line:
I guess the story line's kind of average I would say. I mean, after reading this one shot, I was like, "Err okay. The end." It's super short though it has 67 pages. If you get my drift, I meant to say that it's rather draggy. This story is basically about this strong, independent women who just broke up with a man who is already in a relationship with another woman! Seriously wonder why they even want to have an affair! Anyway, apparently Yuri, the main character of this One Shot manga, felt hurt because she wonders why men always choose weaker women over woman like her. So she went on a cruise for the sake of pleasing her Aunt. And she went on the cruise, ALONE. Oh please la, when I read until there, I think that was like page 6 or earlier, I already could guess what's going to happen next. For such a gorgeous looking lady, OF COURSE SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN LA. Haiyo!
But anyway, I really felt that there could be more drama and action. Though the boy-turn-into-a-man part was rather surprising and at first I thought I was reading a Fantasy genre one shot. And there should be more development and clearer explanation about Shinobu's mom and all that. I was actually pretty confused as to what's going on. So yeah, I wasn't very pleased with it overall ):
It really could have been slightly better. Good thing it's just a one shot, or else I will have given up after the first chapter.
No offense, but I really didn't really like it ):
Drawing:
Well, I can really give good comments for this section!
Although I have to say Tomu Oomi's drawings are very simple, but they are very clean cut. Meaning, the eyes are really very nicely drawn! The eyes for both male and females are almond-shaped, not the usual manga kind of big starry-eyed kind of drawing. It's super elegant and graceful, and I really like it, because it fits this mature, Josei plot very nicely. The drawing of the hair is very silky and smooth, so when there's a slight breeze of wind, the hair floats about very gently and naturally. I thought it was really very impressive! However, I really felt that it would be nice if Tomu Oomi could have drawn the scenery and the rooms of the cruise in greater detail, then it would be even better!
I think the drawing really deserves a 3/5, that's what brought my rating for this manga to 4/10. (I think you can already calculate how much I thought the plot deserved)
Characters:
There wasn't much character development since this is a One Shot, but Tomu Oomi made it very clear that Yuri is a very independent woman who, unlike many other woman, doesn't show her weaknesses to others. So she hides and masks her feelings of hurt in order to portray a strong side. That is one character trait I like about her, but what I really find it strange was that,
HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT A MAN GOOD LOOKS SETTLED IN YOUR HEART AT FIRST SIGHT??
I truthfully believe attraction at first sight exist, which many people claim that this 'attraction' is actually love (when it is definitely not love), but how can Yuri say that he already set foot into her heart the very first time they met? I'm like, what the world????!!!!
But seriously, Yuri's a true beauty, a woman with elegance and grace. She has a kind heart as well, who is sensitive to other people's feelings and just know when to smile.
As for Shirou, he is indeed a Bishounen! (Personal opinion!) Rich, charming, handsome, polite, a gentleman! Though a super duper good flirt.
Most memorable line/scene:
It will definitely be this scene where… aiya I shall just show it to you.
For that moment, I actually went "HUH???"
I would recommend it to:
Those who are just damn bored and want to kill time reading a Josei One Shot.
Actually, I would rate it 8/10, but I wanted to give a fairer rating, so after much consideration, I reduced it to 7.5/10. But seriously, even though the starting of this manga was super crappy, but till the very end, I felt it really moved me. As in, every single emotion and feeling that Tsuyoshi, Aoi and even Heita experiences, it was as though I was in their position and I could really feel it. And I have to be super honest and admit, I was crying like some idiot in the last volume. Seriously, I couldn't stop sobbing. Because I felt this manga was so so sad, and I just couldn't stop myself from believing that Tsuyoshi really fell so deeply in love with Aoi and vice versa. I believed it so much that for a split second, it made me wonder whether such a strong power of everlasting love really does exist in this universe.
(SPOILER AHEAD)
The ending was rather unexpected for me, because I thought Tsuyoshi would really commit suicide to leave together with Aoi, but he didn't. Instead, he stayed strong and helped fulfill Aoi's dream. I just can't forget the part when he said that he found what he was looking for when he met the field of flowers. Walou, memories are really something. AND AND AND, I REALLY DIDN'T EXPECT THIS TO HAPPEN! I mean, I really didn't know that Aoi was ill until she puked blood. I was completely taken aback!! I didn't even realise this would be a tragedy la.
It's just super heart-breaking. I really cried ):
Drawing:
To be truthful, I didn't really like the drawings. But at certain angles, Tsuyoshi and Aoi does look rather handsome and cute respectively. The crying scenes were really sad.
I think Ako Shimaki can really draw nice scenery. Other than that, I didn't exactly like the drawing.
But the plot was good (: So yeah! Well done (x
Characters:
I think Tsuyoshi is really very sweet when it comes to the one he truly loves. He even vowed never to fall in love again, which I actually wonder whether is that even possible in reality. I can't believe he can be so insensitive towards Aoi yet so sensitive towards her at the same time. He is truly a charmer and really knows how to make girls fall for him in an instant. But what I really like about him is that, even though at first he was super concern about other people's thoughts and impression about him, he soon realises that he should not bother about such comments and just be what he wants to be and just do his very best to make Aoi happy. From just 14 chapters alone, I feel that Tsuyoshi is the kind of guy who will be very faithful and go all out to be with the one he really loves.
(SPOILER AHEAD) Especially since he dyed his hair black for her and instantly wanted to marry her even though Aoi was going to die very soon. (SPOILER ENDS)
And Aoi, wow she is SUPER NAÏVE AND INNOCENT AND GUILABLE. But I think that's what makes her so special and unique. I think such qualities are what attracted Tsuyoshi to her. Aoi is just so cute la. There was once she mistook a couple having sex in the nurse room as playing sumo wrestling. I was like, "What the world? How dense can you get??!!" She gets tricked so often that others just make use of her weakness. I can totally understand why Tsuyoshi wants to protect her every single second. What I really like about Aoi is her big kind heart, who is so accepting and so kind. She goes all out to try her best to fit in and to be strong so that others wouldn't worry about her. And she tries her best to understand what others are feeling and thinking. She is just so kind and warm-hearted that I feel extremely heart-broken that she has to leave so soon. She is so sacrificial that I just can't help but cry.
You just want her to be happy.
You wouldn't care about anything else- not even your own pain,
you just want her to leave, with a big smile on her face.
What the hell, why am I getting all emotional again.
Most memorable line/scene:
Two damn tear-jerking scenes!
Firstly, it's the scene where Aoi was teaching the little children and smiling away. The part where Tsuyoshi said to Heita,
"Let this burn in your eyes – Aoi's smiling expression."
Wah I tell you, while I was reading the last volume, I was listening to songs like 'How do I live without you' by LiAnne Rimes and 'Helpless when she smiles' by Westlife.
Please la, how do I stop my tears from flowing at times like this?
Secondly, it's the scene where Aoi was praying out loud in the temple, and she said this,
"I wish for Tsuyoshi-kun to be happy from now until forever."
What the hell, and she was leaving so freaking soon.
I would recommend it to:
Shoujo lovers and those who are easily satisfied with super short and super simple love stories.
Title: Love Monster/ I Love a Monster/ Love's Monster/ Rabuu Monsuta
By: Miyagi Riko
Genre: Shoujo, Romance, School life, Comedy, Smut, Fantasy, Drama
Chapters: 82 chapters
My Rating: 9/10
Plot/ Story line:
I have such a strong urge to write a review for this because so many thoughts and emotions rushed through my heart, mind and soul when I read through all the 82 chapters! This manga is really very sweet and touching, and quite sad towards the end! So my feeling towards it is very mixed up. There are times where I just can't help but smile at its sweetness, and there are times where I can go, "What the world? This is so dumb!" But for some strange reason, it has impressed me enough to make me give it a rating of 9/10, equivalent to Vampire Knight, Kare First Love and Akuma De Sourou status! This manga is also very mysterious, with all the White Crow and Demon King issues here and there, which made me think of VK. In addition, I thought the ending was rather similar to the anime Petite Princess Yucie (aka Puchi Puri Yuushi). But this manga is however revolving very much on the strong love and bond between the two main characters Tenma Kurou and Osora Hiyoko! This manga is super fantasy like because it has crows and vampires and snakes and cats and monsters and all that crap, but it was so fun and interesting to read (:
There is a strong feel of friendship between the characters that made this whole manga even more touching and sweet! It's like, there were many times where characters were willing to go all out to protect and save their friends, like the Chihwahwa twins for Kon the fox, and K and J the vampires. Their friendship is just so unbreakable!
And of course, there were some scenes, which we thankfully censored, that aren't meant for the young to see (x LOL. But it was really really very sweet (: I mean, I have to agree with Hiyo, sometimes there is really no right or wrong, everyone just has different perception and different ways of loving others.
I think one of the more adventurous chapters was the part during summer vacation where Hiyo had to go to the China branch of St Monster High to help them choose a student council president. That was the part when I was most confuse about Tenma Kurou's intentions and I was super confuse about Rin-san. But that whole scene actually showed the true suffering of commoners and victims of wars. That's what I really like about manga, the mangaka really use their wonderful art to display the true side of the world we live in today. It's like, in the midst of fantasy, there is reality. It's super cool and I absolutely love it whenever mangakas do that. So, thumbs up for you Miyagi Riko (: One other thing that I really enjoy when I read this manga is that, I NEVER GOT BORED. As in, there is always something new or a change of events or something more mysterious that will pop up, and in the end, everything is revealed and the reader will finally understand everything that the mangaka showed in the previous chapters.
Okay, let's talk about some of the bad points of this manga. (Must be a balance argument right? Haha)
Anyway, there were some times when I felt that Miyagi Riko made things too simple, or she was just plain lazy to make it more interesting. Okay, take for example, (SPOILER AHEAD) the part when Hiyo's friend got 'kidnapped' mysteriously, and everyone thought that she was kidnapped because they were after Hiyo's white feathers! So I was getting all excited and started speculating who was the kidnapper, WHEN ACTUALLY, it was Gin and Yuki and Kon who made a mistake and mistook Hiyo's friend for Hiyo and brought her friend back to SM High. I was like thinking, "WAH SO ANTI-CLIMAX!" I was seriously ready for some butt-kicking action! (Well, partly because I think Tenma Kurou looks really cool when he's fighting! Haha (x )
To add on, I felt that the relationship between Osaru Shou (Hiyo's dad) and her mother could be more emphasised. I mean, they are both from different worlds, so shouldn't their relationship be very strong? Why didn't Miyagi Riko explained in greater detail their powerful love? I was disappointed in this aspect ):
Overall, I really like this manga and I felt that the 82 chapters were worth my time and energy reading (: I would love to reread it again, but maybe once I'm done with my homework ):
This manga is so just naughty and sweet and fun (:
Drawing:
I think Miyagi Riko is damn talented in drawing children. ALL THE CHILDREN SHE DREW IS SO CUTE (: Her drawing of eyes are super cute too (: Especially the Chinese eyes, they are super sexy and mesmerizing. I really enjoyed her drawing during the China branch part. All the Chinese costumes and scenery are really amazingly Chinese! Haha! Though I realise that most of her good looking guys look nearly the same, but those guy characters are really good looking (x Hehe.
Characters:
(THIS SECTION IS FULL OF SPOILERS)
I think the character that had the STRONGEST impression on me was actually L the vampire. HAHA, even though he isn't an important character at all, but he resonate the vampire effect created by Matsuri Hino in VK. So I was really sort of attracted to him. He's short but quite cute as well, and he seems the kind of guy who will really protect the one he loves (: I think I respect vampires even more after reading Love Monster.
Okay, I'll state the obvious now, I think Osora Hiyoko resembles the angel of hope and cuteness! She's so short and petite but she's just so lovable till SO MANY GUY CHARACTERS, namely Haine, L, Yamata, Kon, the child doctor and obviously Tenma Kurou fell in love with her! I mean, IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE??? But of course, this is just a Shoujo manga, but Hiyo is seriously very cute and lovable that I think I will fall in love with her as well (: She is just so hopeful till the very end that she eventually saved the day! (Like D-U-H she is the main character after all) But like every other girl, she has her own fantasies and her own weaknesses, and she tends to get naughty, especially when she's alone with Kurou, which makes things rather cute and funny (: I think her white wings really suit her, she truly is a cute and clumsy and naughty angel!
I think guys like Tenma Kurou, one of the strongest crow monsters in Love Monster, deserve to live in only dreams and imaginations, because guys like him are impossible to even exist on earth. His love for Hiyo is just super unconditional and sacrificial that I was extremely moved by his actions during the time when the vampires intervened. He was so totally going to kill L if the Principal hadn't block his attack. Please la, even L was crying. (And for a full minute I seriously thought Hiyo was going to become a vampire) He is also such a show off and rather insensitive towards Hiyo's feelings towards him that I actually think it's rather amusing (: He can be just so immature sometimes (: And he just doesn't know how to love Hiyo that it makes me sympathise with him somehow.
Haine, the president of the SC of SM High's rival school, who is also a crow monster, actually reminds me of Hayate in Pretear. Strange isn't it? I have no idea why, but I thought Haine's love for Hiyo is actually very real that I was super shock to see him disappearing when he confessed the Hiyo for the second time. Haine really is a great guy (: He can be Hiyo's big brother or something (:
I think Miyako (Tenma Kurou's mom) or the Moonlight Goddess (or whatever Priestess she is), is a really loving deity that protects her love ones to the very end. I was rather touched when she chased her husband away by saying she hates him to be around, because she was actually trying to protect him. She is so mysterious and complex that I actually begin to like her after a while even though she continued being very mean and harsh. She really reminds me of Tomoyo in Tsubasa Reservior Chronicles!
Most memorable line/scene:
Three scenes that have left a mark in my mind.
One, the part when Tenma Kurou truly showed his unconditional love and sacrifice for Hiyo that I could feel a stab of pain through my heart. He was willing to let Hiyo become a vampire and allowed her to lose her memories about him because he wanted her to live.
And he said something like, "No matter what Hiyo becomes, she'll still be my Hiyo and I will still love her."
Bittersweet love. Nothing can ever beat that kind of power. Nothing.
Two, the scene where Tenma Kurou actually said something like this to Hiyo:
"The more light you shine, the more my hands will be stained with darkness."
I felt an overwhelming sense of fear and pain for both Kurou and Hiyo and I was seriously worried about what will happen next. I can never forget that pained look from Tenma Kurou's eyes at that time.
Three, this very scene:
This scene is so filled with hope that I just smiled and laughed to myself.
If only the world could be like this.
I would recommend it to:
Shoujo manga and Romance lovers who can stand a little ecchi and smut, and those who go crazy over Bishounens (Pretty boys) !
Okay, first and foremost, if you HAVE NOT WATCHED 'CASINO ROYALE', then I suggest you DO NOT WATCH THIS, or else you will be completely clueless from the beginning to the end. Like what many movie reviews have mentioned, Quantum of Solace is more of a revenge film than anything else, so there is a COMPLETE LACK OF EMOTIONS AND FEELINGS, a very VERY different feel from Casino Royale (Which I really enjoyed watching, and would give it 8.5/10 if I ever do a review on it). So yeah, as I've said, from the very first scene, there was a super heart-thumping action with cars and everyone flying all over. And I actually had to recall what happen in the last scene of Casino Royale to actually realise what the world is James Bond running away from. This entire movie is SO ACTION-PACKED that I was starting to get bored with it half way through the film. Seriously, too much action, complete lack of story line and plot! But, I mean, I have to say the action scenes were really blown BIG and really heart-racing that I really can't help but give it credit. It is a James Bond film after all. And come to think of it, this movie is one of those movies that are suitable to become a game, which I heard XBOX is really coming up with a QOS game. And not to forget, the Technology in QOS is DAMN IMPRESSIVE. The touch screen table and wall is super cool. It reminds me of 'Minority Report'. I feel that there were less JB sleeping with women scenes, which is good to me because I can't stand how men can play with women's feelings like that.
And for this particular movie, the villains didn't really show their true power, like they didn't really show how evil the villains are, and it just seems as though JB is after them just because he is told to. But this is also basically because there is a lack of story line. Perhaps they will do more of that in the next bond movie, Bond 23. So I'll be looking forward to it (x
Screen and Sound Effects:
I've always thought screen effects for JB movies will be good, since JB always travels from country to country. But this time, even though he travelled to about 4 or 5 countries, I really couldn't tell because they didn't really focus on the scenery. The desert scenes were good though, they were impressive. But it makes me wonder how the hell JB got out of such a huge desert!
I was really disappointed with the sound effects! Past JB movies had nicer and more catch-y theme songs, QOS was just so-so. I really expected much better songs!
Of course, the fighting and action scenes had wonderful sound effects and screen visual effects that nearly made my heart jump out of my chest. So yeah, I'll give credit to that!
Characters:
LOL, I would like to talk about Daniel Craig first.
I still think he's body is damn good, and he has this aura of authority and coolness that TOTALLY SUITS THE JAMES BOND LOOK. I'm not fan-girl-ing or anything, it's just that, I'm embarrassed to admit but I can't help but look at his body. His torso is really worth eye-candying. And I really like how James Bond movie producers are trying to portray a more realistic James Bond, where he really gets hurt and really makes mistakes, unlike the other JB movies where I was think James Bond is too perfect to be true. And Daniel Craig's eyes are so mesmerizing that it sweeps all the women in the movie off their feet, literally and figuratively. Out of all JB movies, apart from Sean Connery, Daniel Craig plays one of the best James Bond character.
In this entire movie, James Bond portrayed a very cold image, except for the part when he was about to sleep with Agent Fields. But as I've said, this is supposed to be a revenge film, so I guess his entire mind is filled with how to kill that stupid guy who framed and blackmailed his ex-girlfriend.
Okay, now about M. As mysterious and sleek as ever! I've always like Judi Dench's acting and her acting in QOS never fell below my expectations. Her witty conversations with James Bond are really amusing, as usual. So, I will just say, GO M! Haha!
Next, Dominic Greene. Walou, I tell you. Mathieu Amalric plays the facial reactions it so well that he really looks like the ultimate villain. One moment he really looks like a nice guy just trying to save the world, the next moment, he looks as if he is going to shake your head till it drops off. Take a look at the photo!
Damn freaky right! Shivers!
Most memorable line/ scene:
WARNING, SPOILERS AHEAD.
THREE SCENES THAT ARE DEEPLY CARVED INTO MY MEMORY!
(Yeah, even though I was bored with it, but the action scenes are really mind-blowing!)
I think I should upload photos to describe the scenes better.
Firstly, it's the scene where Bond was running after some personnel from the mysterious Quantum organisation, in the midst of chasing that idiot, Bond fell from some scaffolding and had his leg entangled with some rope (I have no idea why there was a rope there). But then that idiot personnel was about to reach for a gun and shoot Bond, BUT BOND WAS STUPIDLY CAUGHT BY THAT STUPID ROPE! SO SO SO BOND WAS LIKE SWINGING TO AND FRO FROM THE ROPE, and trying his best to reach his gun that fell to the ground. AND AT THAT VERY MOMENT WHEN THAT QUANTUM PERSONNEL WANTED TO SHOOT HIM, Bond reached for his gun JUST ON TIME and SHOT HIM. DAMN SCARY LA. But fun to watch (:
Why not I show you the photo?
Damn style right.
Secondly, it's the scene when the agent Strawberry Fields, who was sent to drag Bond back to London, was coated in black dirty oil. I was really disgusted.
Take a look at the photo below.
According to my Dad and substantiated by various websites (credits below), this scene is actually paying tribute to one of the famous Bond scenes, where Shirley Eaton was also similarly killed in the 1964 Bond Movie called 'GoldFinger'. Shirley Eaton was covered in gold paint instead and died due to asphyxia (First Aider terms) or in other words, suffocated to death.
Thirdly, it's the scene, is the very last scene. It's the scene where James Bond actually threw Vesper's necklace on the snowy ground.
This is why it's memorable, because UNTIL NOW, I have no idea why he did that? Does he mean that he found out that Vesper was using him all the while? Or was he still pissed off with himself that he couldn't save her on time during Casino Royale? I really don't get it.
I would recommend it to:
James Bond fans, action pack fans, and those girls who like to see Daniel Craig half naked.
Not being a pervert or anything, but Daniel Craig seriously has a good body.
I repeat: those who expect QOS to be like Casino Royale, you BETTER LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS.
And to those who prefer emotion filled films like Casino Royale, this is DEFINITELY NOT FOR YOU.
In Spill.com's terms, I will actually rate this film as 'FULL PRICE!'
It's really worth the money, if you enjoy such James Bond, action-packed movies.
You just can't get the same mind-blowing effect when watching it on DVD or something.

My Rating: 5/10
Plot/ Story line:
To be REALLY FRANK, I thought the only part of this movie that I enjoyed was the last 20 minutes. THINGS REALLY HEATED UP IN THE LAST 20 MINUTES! But WHY WAS IT ONLY IN THE LAST 20 MINUTES!!! Such action should be the MAIN CLIMAX OF THE MOVIE. I know this is based on a mystery novel and there are lots of mysteries and clues to find, but I really thought that there should be MORE ACTION AND EXCITEMENT! Like weave everything in! And to be honest (okay I know I'm being too honest here), When I was watching this movie halfway, I wanted to give up, but I was too lazy to start on my homework, so I decided to just KILL TIME and finish the movie. Yeah, the front parts were that boring. This movie is also really unrealistic; Nancy Drew is portrayed to be TOO PERFECT that it turns me off. And even though there were some jokes here and there, they weren't even funny ):
If you plan to BUY this DVD or VCD, oh gosh, just rent it. I think you won't even remember this story a week later.
But seriously, this movie can really rather entertaining too, it's obviously aimed at the younger girl audience, seeing how Nancy Drew search for all those clues, how she bravely crawl under tunnels, how she survived a bomb blast (damn unrealistic I tell you), how she uses a paper clip to hook up documents. Super entertaining, but all these should just remain as words in novels. LOL, I did sort of enjoy it, and the ending was rather unexpected. Besides, I really got a good feeling out of this movie because Nancy Drew did all this because she knew this was the RIGHT THING TO DO and it ended with everyone living happily ever after.
You go, girl (:
Screen and Sound Effects:
I love the place where River Heights was filmed. Sorry but I'm always attracted to country side kind of looks (: So yeah, I just love the scenery.
And about the songs played, some of them are so retro it really fit the mood. I especially love the last song played in the last 10 minutes of the movie. I thought it fit the atmosphere really well. Other than that the rest of the songs didn't really appealed to me or attracted my attention.
Characters:
One thing I absolutely love about the character Nancy Drew is her not afraid of being different than the other girls in her new school. She didn't even give in to all those peer pressure and weird stares. AND how can I forget to mention that SHE IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. Which is so not realistic :/ (A down side about this movie) She's good in everything it actually kind of freaks me out. But she's really modest and not at all arrogant about her superb ability to do everything so well, from studies to athletics to art. However, I was actually thinking about the REAL character in the 'Nancy Drew' mystery novels. I have never read any of those books so I really don't know what her character was like in the actual book. I mean, I'm sure the author did show some of her flaws right? Because she was just the perfect girl in this movie it's just too unbelievable till I told myself, "What the world, this is ridiculous." BUT BUT BUT no one can ever hate her, she's just so lovely, kind, gentle, helpful, polite, professional. If I were a guy who met such a girl, I'm damn sure I will be very interested to know more about her.
I THINK THERE SHOULD BE MORE NED AND NANCY SCENES! ): I think Ned's a really sweet guy in the film who accepts Nancy's quirkiness and everything about her. I'm not sure what happen in those novels, but there should really be more build up on the relationship between Ned and Nancy. They are so cute together (:
Emma Roberts is really pretty!!! But her acting is kind of, err, heh, yeah you get my drift :/
Most memorable line/ scene:
The VERY VERY LAST SCENE, when Ned looked into Nancy in the eye and they were both leaning against Nancy's trusty blue car.
Please la, we all totally know what's going to happen next, don't we? (:
I would recommend it to:
Little girls who like to see a little mystery and who think Nancy Drew is their Idol. (I have a huge feeling the 'Nancy Drew' novel fans will not like this movie, so I won't recommend this to them, haha)

Plot/ Story line:
It's a really sweet and simple story (okay perhaps too simple) of how Kate, who seems to be a brilliant chief and focuses entirely on her career and kitchen, suddenly has to deal with being a step-mom and falling in love. It's really for women; I can't imagine guys watching such a romantic film! However, I thought the appearance of Zoe was way too sudden. Of course I understand that accidents ARE sudden and unexpected but I really never thought that Zoe's mom actually died and Zoe seemed completely unharmed in the hospital! I was like, "Huh? Are you sure Zoe's mom died when Zoe doesn't even look horrified or traumatized?" AND, I thought there was a complete lack of drama. The neighbour could have been more involved to stir things up a little, and it was so expected that Nick and Kate would fall in love. I thought Kate's colleagues could have been better brought into the story line too, but oh well, this isn't my movie, so I'll just accept it for what it is. Overall, it's a really sweet movie that shows family love and how Nick and Kate fell in love.
Screen and Sound Effects:
I just love the comfy looking house! And the kitchen scenes were interesting, though it reminded me too much of the animated movie Ratatouille.
I didn't even notice any sound effects at all. Except for all those old-fashion music :/
Characters:
For some strange reason, I thought Nick's a real cool guy. I mean, he really respects Kate's decision and views about him intruding her kitchen, and he understands that Kate can get rather 'protective' over her position. And he REALLY KNOWS HOW TO COOK (a damn good plus point). But initially, I have to admit that I viewed Nick as the Bad Guy, because in such a situation, it just seems as though he was eyeing Kate's position and Main Chief (or whatever the title is called) of the restaurant and nothing else. Thank goodness after much explaining and as the movie continues, viewers can really see that Nick really just wants to work with the famous Kate the chief, nothing more. And he is such a sweet guy, and really knows how to joke. He's a little too perfect for me though, of course he has a temper and stubborn streak in him, but overall Nick's a real Mr Nice Guy. I think all those women who watch this movie will just smile at all this romantic gestures he did for Kate (: Haha.
And I think Catherine Zeta-Jones is really gorgeous and a pretty good actress!
Most memorable line/ scene:
Nick: Zoe, I am now going to kiss your aunt.
Zoe (closes eyes): This is so embarrassing.
This scene is super duper sweet that I actually smiled and giggled like a little girl.
I would recommend it to:
A bunch of school girls having a night out or a group of girlfriends who love watching romantic movies.
No, of course guys can watch it (: The guys will have to take their dates with them to fully enjoy this film though!

Plot/ Story line:
To be absolutely frank, I expected A LOT A LOT A LOT from this movie, since I thought 'A Cinderella Story' was really great and sweet, and it never came across my mind that the sequel could be THAT BAD ): I MEAN, WHYYYYYYYYYYY ): Why was it so so bad! IT'S WAY TOO CLICHÉ! 'A Cinderella Story' was a little cliché, but this is way worse ): This movie is a total 'Touch-and-Go' kind! IT NEVER EVEN FOCUSED ON A SPECIFIC THEME! I thought it was a musical, but there were SO FEW SINGING SCENES, unlike High School Musical. Then I thought it was a dancing kind of movie, like 'Step Up' and 'Take the Lead', but please la, the dance moves weren't that impressive. THEN I thought there would be a nice sweet romance story line, but the romance was UNREALISTIC! I mean, even though it is possible for someone to like another because of his/her super cool dancing, but YOU DON'T FALL IN LOVE BECAUSE OF THAT. I stress the part FALL IN LOVE. How can this be called love????
Of course, I give credit to those cute scenes between Joey and Mary such as the cleaning up of the house together and the 'playing guitar' scenes in Mary's room. But other than that, there's really nothing much. The sisters are as dumb as ever, the Step-mother is as evil and cruel as ever. There's an introduction of the other girl though, which made a little impact on the story line, but the impact was DAMN EXPECTED. Aiya whatever it is, I already could figure the ending of this movie when watching the middle part of it. I just finish watching it because I wanted to give a proper review on it. (SPOILER) Please la, if Mary doesn't win the competition, then who will? So expected :/ (END OF SPOILER)
Oh, I'm glad that showed more on the Step-Mother's character, in this case is Dominique. She really spiced up the movie a little and it was because of her stupid and ridiculous actions that make this movie rather comical. Oh not to forget her bimbotic daughters, I don't even remember their names, they were really dumb blondes, a serious disgrace to the blondes in the world. They portrayed blondes in a very negative way that I just shiver in disgust.
Overall, IT REALLY COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER ): But I'll still pass it because of the 'a bit' sweet scenes between Joey and Mary. (There were so few of such scenes too!)
Screen and Sound Effects:
Let me talk about the sound effects first because this movie has rather nice soundtracks. I think the song "Tell me Something I Don't Know" is really quite catchy and nice to hear, seriously! I mean, of course there are other songs which are also rather nice to hear la, but I was most attracted to this particular job. Sound effects were not bad, but there were times I felt that the song sounded as if it was just meant to be heard in the background, some songs were just not emphasised and highlighted enough. As I've said earlier, this movie really didn't focus on the dance, singing and plot areas, so the songs seemed sort of neglected :/ Oh wells, I don't know. It could have been better.
Screen effects were so-so. I think the house is really nice and big! Though the interior of the house is not cosy enough :/ Whatever, I'm not interested on how the interior of the house is anyway. The sceneries were so-so too, I mean what do you expect from a movie which 'touches and goes'? No offense, seriously. Just speaking my mind.
Characters:
OKAY CHARACTERS!
Two more impressionable characters are Dominique (which is Mary's Step-mother) and Tami (Mary's good friend)
Dominique's some old pop star that doesn't seem to be popular anymore, and she treats Mary like dirt (Okay duh, because this is suppose to be similar to the fairy tale Cinderella). But I think Dominique is really funny because she tries all ways to gain back her fame (which I have no idea how she got in the first place) and behaves HORRENDOUSLY in public, like dozing off in a Dance Competition with her mouth wide open. AND NOT TO FORGET HER HORRIBLE DRESS SENSE. I'm a total noob at fashion but I can already tell she really needs to be told what can be worn at her age. LOL but she brought the laughs to the show. I really couldn't stand how evil she was to spin a lie about Mary so naturally as though it was no big deal.
I think Mary should be thankful for having such a great friend like Tami. I really love Tami's straight forward and daring character! She does what she pleases and she doesn't care what others say of her, including her strange dress sense, such as wearing a TuTu to school. She really stands up for her friend Mary and really helps Mary whenever possible. She's really a great friend (:
And I think Selena Gomez looks really cute (: She looks like some small girl la! I can't believe she was the voice actress for the 99 daughters in 'Horton Hears a Who!' Haha so cute.
Most memorable line/ scene:
The first few scenes where Mary was in the other dancing room next to Joey's dancing room, and they were both putting their hands on the mirror.
Maybe I should put a picture here instead.
Yeah that scene. I was like, wow, can they feel each other's presence across that mirror?
I would recommend it to:
Those who are rather bored but would like to watch a little romance. Not worth the money for theatre tickets, but worth the rental of DVD/VCD and perhaps even worth the buying of the DVD/VCD (Let's just hope that you will like this movie)

My Rating: 4/10
Plot/ Story line: The general plot of this movie reminded me of ‘How to lose a guy in 10 days’, but the whole movie is so filled with vulgarities that after awhile, I was getting a bit irritated by the vulgar conversations. I mean, seriously, this plot is rather predictable and cliché to the extent that I already knew that Tank’s cover will be blown. Initially, I kind of like how they showed the 10 reasons why that girl want to break up with Tank, it was super vulgar but hilarious nonetheless. Then after a while, you start to think Alexis is not as pure as what she appeared to be. Her room-mate’s no better. I didn’t like the fact that Tank just comes over Alexis’ house just to have -. If they like each other, THEN GO OUT. Don’t go fulfill sexual desires and go home. Isn’t that really silly? I also felt really sorry for Dustin, being betrayed by a friend and cousin can be really traumatizing. But yeah, I saw the strength of male friendship.
And for goodness sake, I hope guys won’t hire other guys to make themselves look good. It’s pointless if the girl really doesn’t like you. Sighs, I’m sorry, I just don’t get how the Americans live their love life. It’s such a mess.
Screen and Sound Effects: Hardly any. Sound effects were super funny at the scene when Tank was screwing things up during the wedding. Other than that, I don’t remember being impressed by any scene or music. No offense, my personal opinion.
Characters: I can’t believe Kate Hudson starred in this film. For a well-known actress who is rather popular and famous (my mistake, WRONG ACTRESS about the Spiderman actress) , I really can’t believe she starred in this film. She’s as warm as sunshine, no doubt about that, making her suitable for role as Alexis. BUT, I MEAN, she could have acted in a more interesting movie than this right? No offense, but that’s what I really feel.
Actually, Tank’s a pretty good guy la. I mean, I have no idea why does he want to be the ‘bad guy’, perhaps its because he gets money out of it and he thinks he’s good at such things, but in the end, he did what he was paid to do because he really likes Alexis. Yeah, I know it’s sweet, but with all that vulgarities, it dilutes the sweetness. It’s a pity, really.
Most memorable line/ scene: The scene when Tank pulled down his pants in front of Alexis’ mom, BUTT NAKED. I WAS HORRIFIED AND STUNNED BEYOND WORDS. I really didn’t expect that!
I would recommend it to: No one, actually. Unless you seriously don’t mind the extremely vulgar language and just want to watch a little bit of romance. But I really hope guys don’t follow Tank’s ways. Seriously, only 1 in a million girls will fall for you if you become like Tank.
It’s a rather sweet romance story with a sprinkle of fantasy. When I mean ‘rather’, I really mean ‘rather’. To be frank, I expected quite a lot from this film because I thought the overview of the story is interesting. I mean, it’s about how appearances don’t really matter in love and even the ugliest person can be the most popular person. But in the end, the ending was really a disappointment to me. I really expected a more dramatic ending. And I didn’t really buy the fact that Johnny and Penelope fell in love so quickly. But, yeah, I have to agree it was rather sweet overall. There were many scenes that were really sweet and really could have been more dramatic with sounds effects or with the scene or even the way they filmed it. For example, when Johnny said that (SPOILER FROM HERE) he could not help her because he faked his identity, I was like, “OH! So that’s the reason why you said ‘I can’t’ to her!” Unfortunately, that whole scene was filmed so ‘normally’ and the actors acted it out as though it was nothing though-provoking, so the whole scene just passed by just like that. Seriously, could have been better.
It was rather unbelievable that the curse was broken as well. And I was also surprised that ‘one of her kind’ actually refers to family! Not some stupid blue-blooded guy. (SPOILER ENDS HERE) Oh well, it’s a fantasy theme anyway, and I really kind of like how they weaved in the family theme into the story. So overall, I enjoyed the movie, but it seriously could have been better! I gave the extra half mark because I really think it’s quite sweet.
By the way, CHILDREN SHOULD NOT LEARN FROM JOHNNY’S OLD GAMBLING WAYS! I hope responsible parents will make sure of that. AND, I really don’t understand the very last scene why Lemon didn’t take their photo? And please la, which journalist rows a boat in a lake with a camera? Shouldn’t that be what a camera man does? Anyway, this part didn’t affect the story.
Screen and Sound Effects:
Screen effects are not too bad, because some of the scenes were pleasant and very country and city like. It fit the story very well. I especially love the park at the last scene. I didn’t really take note of the sound effects, perhaps because it wasn’t really very nice to hear anyway. Sorry, no offense okay, this is purely my opinion.
Characters:
I love Penelope’s character. Her sheer determination to not just marry any blue-blooded man and her accepting the way she is is A FANTASTIC ATTITUDE THAT EVERY GIRL SHOULD HAVE. Just accept who you are, girls! Don’t be worried whether you have an ugly face or whether you have too skinny or too fat limbs. Everyone’s unique in their own special way. And if you love yourself and behave like yourself, your uniqueness will make you stand out from anyone else. I really admired her how she dared to run away from home (or more like prison) to live independently so that she can do whatever she wants. I was so happy for her when she finally made friends who saw past her pig-like nose.
Jessica Wilhern, I think she is really terrible. I know she love her daughter, Penelope, BUT PLEASE! YOU ARE TRAPPING HER FROM SEEING THE BEAUTIFUL WORLD OUTSIDE! She may look ugly, but she’s a wonderful sweet girl! Why can’t you EVER see past her ugly nose? I just couldn’t believe she could still say things like go for a nose job to make her nose more pointed after Penelope went through that change. I still remember Penelope just glared at her and said, “You’re crazy.” Damn right you are.
Most memorable line/ scene:
Johnny: All Halloween I've been running into someone I used to know.
Penelope: [wearing a pig mask] This someone - she meant a lot to you?
Johnny: Yes, yes she did.
Penelope: What happened?
Johnny: I couldn't give her what she wanted.
Penelope: What did she want?
Johnny: To be free.
Super sweet! I smiled at this scene.
“I can’t” – Johnny, who was pretending to be Max, said to Penelope when Penelope bravely asked him to marry her.
At first, I was like, what a jerk. Then after I realise the truth, I felt bad about it. Haha!
I would recommend it to:
Romance lovers or even a group of girls just trying to find a romance movie to watch together. It’s not THAT bad, but perhaps, I’m not saying you shouldn’t, you should rent the movie instead of buying the DVD or VCD. If you can afford it, then buy the DVD or VCD. If you can’t or you are rather short of cash for that moment, then don’t bother.
A whole load of crap with A LOT OF HIDDEN MESSAGES THAT ARE WORTH NOTICING. This animated movie was violent, gruesome and has a VERY VERY NEGATIVE INFLUENCE in many ways, HOWEVER (this is the part which convinced me to pass this movie) there were a lot of hidden humorous and serious messages in this film that actually made it somehow worth watching for the fun of it. I mean, after the whole movie I thought, “What the world did I just watch?” Then, the following themes and random thoughts raced across my head:
-Politics, how the government makes decisions
-Saving the Environment is everyone’s responsibility
-Nuclear weapons can be abused easily
-Christianity and Religion do not give you answers all the time
-High availability of guns for children in USA
-Responsibility as a Parent
-Poor influence from parents like Homer Simpson can ruin a life
-Greasy pork burgers are murderers
-How important relationship between parents and children is.
-Spider Man, or more like, Spider Pig.
-The Influential Authority and Power
-DISNEY??????!!!!!!!
-Pressure can lead to suicide if not taken seriously
And after that I thought, okay if viewers are able to sieve out these extremely important messages from the film, then yeah, it’s not all bad.
But if you aren’t a ‘The Simpsons’ fan, like me, you will mostly think this is all crap.
Animations:
The usual colourful and gruesome and bloody animations from the series. Sorry, but I’m not impressed by it.
Characters:
I think the only good guy is Flanders. I mean, he helps unconditionally. Seriously, I don’t think you can find any guy like that anymore.
And the relationship between Lisa and Collin is kind of funny and cute.
Sound effects:
The sound effects were so-so. The theme song is always so catchy though.
Most memorable line/scene:
“I’ll let you hold the bomb.” Homer Simpson saying to his son, Bart Simpson.
For goodness sake, what is wrong with this film?
I would recommend it to:
‘The Simpsons’ fans and those who likes watching such films that mock and ridicule the way we live our lives. Not too bad la, just not my kind of movie.
The story line’s really boring, the reason why I rate it 4/10. I mean, I know the F1 Heat was really up and burning recently due to the first F1 Night Race that was held in Singapore, and I admit that watching at how fast these cars speed across the race circuit is really cool. But if I want to watch cars racing, I might as well spend money of F1 race tickets than spend money to buy the DVD/ VCD of The Fast and Furious. Tickets to the F1 race may be more expensive, but hey, you’re watching it LIVE with no computer effects and graphics. The movie poster looked really cool, but I should have realised that’s all I was going to get – cool graphics and moves. And sorry F&F fans, I just wasn’t impressed by anything else. I think a good movie should have three factors – emotion, action and animation/computer graphics. This movie was really cool, I mean, not every driver can drift you know (I’m talking about real life, not what you do in arcades), but other than that, I think impressing a girl just by good driving isn’t enough.
In addition, I think the relationship between Sean and Neela is way too simple. Their relationship could have been more elaborated and interesting. And by the way, I think the name ‘DK’ is damn funny. At first I thought it meant Donkey Kong, actually it means ‘Drift King’. Kinda cool and funny name eh?
On the whole, the plot sucks, sorry dudes.
Screen and Sound Effects:
Screen effects are great because watching these multi-coloured race cars speed pass the screen can be real neat. The spiral hill reminded me of Initial D Movie. Haha!
As for sound effects, if you’re a car racing lover and the zooming sounds of race cars excites you, then yeah, you would like the sound effects.
Characters:
To me, if I don’t see a story line, then that means the characters have left no impression on me. But Nathalie Kelley is kind of pretty. And I think the friendship between Han and Sean is admirable.
Most memorable line/ scene:
The scene where Han drifted around a car with two hot females in it, and he successfully got their numbers.
I WAS LIKE, WHAT ARE THESE GIRLS THINKING????
I would recommend it to:
Car racing lovers and F&F fans ONLY. There’s seriously not much plot to this one, trust me.
To be very frank, this movie was loads of fun. It was really entertaining and interesting to see how the producers actually pieced the numerous evergreen ABBA songs and fit them into the plot of this movie, songs such as ‘Mamma Mia’ (like of course), ‘Money Money Money’, ‘Take a Chance on me’, ‘Honey Honey’, ‘I have a dream’, ‘Winner takes it all’, ‘Dancing Queen’ and so many more were played during the movie. As a fan of Disney Classics and Productions, I naturally love musicals as well, and it brought a smile to my face when some of these songs blended nicely into the plot of the movie. However, there was once (or was it twice) that I sort of frowned because I was thinking, “Huh?? The song has no link to the plot!” I mean, sometimes I felt that it was as though the producers were kind of forcing the music into the movie and it didn’t really blend very well. But my parents (I watched it with them) disagreed with me. So, I don’t know about you, but this was what I felt at certain scenes.
To add on, the overall story line was rather sweet and nice, a little bit of romance here and there. And this movie is like a good ‘essay’, in a way, because the introduction and the ending has a link! Haha! But I felt the relationship between Sophie and Sky could have been made clearer, because I was really puzzled as to (SPOILER) why they didn’t get married in the end, because they can still travel around the world when they are married, so why must the wedding be called off?? I just didn’t get it!
Anyway, this movie is also rather ‘vulgar’ in a way (from an immature kid’s point of view) and it is really more for adults, there were a number of sexual references in the movie, but well, it was fun to watch and I had a good laugh.
Oh and by the way, since it’s a musical, be prepared to see a whole crowd of people dancing and singing together. It’s just like Disney Classics musicals, just that this time is in real life and no animals are singing. Haha!
AND not to forget, in some of the scenes, THE COSTUMES ARE RETRO! So it was ultra cool and funny to see actors like Pierce Brosnan wearing such clothings! Haha!
Screen and Sound Effects:
The scenery was GREAT. I mean, I love the country side, so the wide open sea and the warm beaches were pleasing to my eyes. The singing was overall not bad, though there were a few songs that were personally sun by the actors and actresses that I didn’t feel was up to standard. But I really felt the song ‘Winner takes it all’ was really well sung as a lot of emotions gushed out of it and I was overwhelmed.
And of course, if you happen to really enjoy ABBA’s works, you will like the sound effects and the music.
Characters:
Sophie’s just so spontaneous and I really like her cheerfulness and sunshine character. No wonder Sky fell for her, please la, I wouldn’t be surprise if there were actually more guys who fell in love with her and Sky had to fight for her heart. No no, no such thing happened in the movie, it’s just what I imagine it to be IF this was a real life story. LOL.
Donna is DAMN WILD AND FUNNY. She’s like this super strong woman who loves her girlfriends and loves having fun (especially when she was younger), and she raised Sophie all by herself and built a hotel called ‘Villa Donna’. I mean like, WOAH some superwoman without a man. Meryl Streep acted super well, I was impressed by her ‘natural acting’ (if there is such a term).
This whole movie is really just about the two of them, mother and daughter.
Most memorable line/ scene:
“We danced on the beach, kissed on the beach and dot, dot, dot.” – Sophie, when reading her mother’s diary (Donna’s diary) out loud to her friends.
I was like, ROFLMAO! What a way to describe what happened after that! Dot Dot Dot!!!
“Donna: Welcome also, Sophie's father. He's here.
Sophie: I know, I invited him.
Donna: That's impossible, I don't even know which one it is.”
LOL I was like, HAHA this is so hilarious!
I would recommend it to:
Musical lovers and those who like listening to ABBA songs but not major fanatics of ABBA (because I have to admit, some of the songs were not sung up to standard). On the contrary, this may be a romance musical, but I felt the romance was more of the 'rekindled' or 'happened before' then the 'happened in the movie itself' kind of romance, so it was sweet, but even though I like romance movies, I didn't feel that this was a romance movie/musical.
This movie is really entertaining. As in, seriously, I didn’t expect much from this snow initially because of the theme of wanting to grow up, boy-chasing and snogging and bitchy-ing. But, it was really a fun show to watch, from a girl’s point of view of course. The boy-chasing part, or more like boy-stalking, was really hilarious! I love how British films like this have witty conversations with a tinge of sarcasm and humour, just like the movie Juno. The whole movie revolves around how Georgia Nicolson and her best girlfriends who want to be a grown up and be in a BGR, so they were doing like research on how to attract the male species. Then the girls will hide behind bushes just to look at the cute guys. And how they would do silly tests to see if they are mature or pretty enough. They will do silly things just to try to attract the guys’ attention. The pretending to lose your cat incident was quite comical. Whatever it is, the whole process is really very cute and funny! It’s so fun to see the girls HAVE FUN, if you get what I mean. This movie shows all the common problems girls usually have in a relationship and all those girl issues. There was also a family theme in it, which made the whole movie really very sweet. THE ENDING WAS REALLY SWEET TOO (: Okay, it was a little cliché, but nonetheless sweet and a very happy ending (: I just can’t help but smile at many scenes of this film. It’s a light heartening film that I really enjoyed (: I mean, sometimes girls just want to have some fun, right? Hahaha (x
Screen and Sound Effects:
The songs were really not bad, especially Stiff Dylans songs, I think they were really rock and fun! The sceneries were really nice too, perhaps it’s because it was filmed in England, so the beaches and parks were really gorgeous and breath-taking!
Characters:
This can be a little embarrassing, but to be absolutely frank, I think Aaron Johnson (who acted as Robbie) is really very cute for a guy. Seriously! When he first appeared in the film, with the slow motion and everything, I was like, “Okay, he IS quite good looking.” Aaron Johnson’s eyes are enchanting. I’m not surprised if he has many girl fans in real life!
Robbie’s a nice guy, and also the guy that many girls dream to be with, so of course Georgia just can’t keep her eyes off him. The fact that Robbie doesn’t like to two-time was a plus point. AND he composes songs, another plus point. Please la, he’s really the kind of guy every girl has ever dreamed of. He made a right choice to break up with Lindsay, she seriously sucks big time.
Georgia sometimes can really act immature, throwing tantrums and all. But towards the end of the show, it seemed like she became more mature and acted responsibly. I like her carefree personality though. She finally realised that a girl should get a boyfriend who likes her for who she is. Thank goodness (: Georgia Groome, the actress, is really quite a good actor! I was impress on how she acted to naturally.
Even though Jas can be a big mouth sometimes, I think she’s a really great friend. I was rather touched by some of the things she did for Georgia and her other friends. I mean, she can really go all out to make up for doing something wrong. And I’m so glad she didn’t neglect her friends despite being able to get Tom as her boyfriend. Friends should stick together always! Hurray for them!
Most memorable line/ scene:
“If you haven’t noticed, I’m a woman now. I wear a bra!” – Georgia Nicolson
(I thought this was the dumbest thing a girl could ever say, for goodness sake, wearing a bra doesn’t prove anything!)
I would recommend it to:
A whole group of girls who are having a Girls’ Night Out. This movie is really fun to watch if you’re with your best girlfriends (:
